This weekend my husband and I traveled to Savannah, Georgia to attend a wedding for our two best friends! Here’s a fun story on our background with them! The beautiful bride is one of my closest friends since college! I actually referred her to come work at the company I started with right out of college. At the time it was a small start up and I knew they really needed someone like her to kick butt! And of course she did and still continues to shine there!

A few years later my husband interviewed and hired the groom to join him at the same company. My husband was in marketing and the bride was in business development. The groom and my husband worked on the same team for many years and we all became fast friends!

They were both (unknowingly) going through rough breakups and were individually leaning on us as their friends to get through it. We just knew they needed each other! And the rest is history….

These two humans now have a beautiful life together, including their sweet baby girl. This was the first wedding I’ve ever been too where I was just as close to both the bride and groom. This two are truly made for each other. 🖤

Where we stayed:

We've stayed at a few places in our trips to Savannah, but this was our first time at The Alida Hotel. It was absolutely beautiful! It's located in the recently developed Plant Riverside District, just a few steps to the Historic District that Savannah is well known for. We loved it so much that we plan to return to this hotel for our future trips! The rooms were very spacious and the staff were so kind.

What we ate:

The options for great food in Savannah are never ending... and we sure did eat a lot! But our absolute favorite was The Collins Quarter, just a few steps away from SCAD Museum of Arts. We were able to walk from our hotel to this little breakfast spot in about 10 minutes. You MUST get the Swine Time Beni. LIFE CHANGING GOOD! Brioche French Toast layered with pulled pork, hollandaise, poached egg, tomato and bacon. HOLY MOLY. Its so good! I got the Breakfast Sandwich and that was also delicious! I highly recommend pairing it with an iced Vietnamese coffee or a madagascar vanilla latte or both.

What I wore:

For the wedding I wore this incredible dress from Eloquii. I debated if I should pair it with heels but Savannah is basically all cobble stone and I'm not great at walking... even in flats. So I went with a more realistic pair of shoes. I'm so glad I did because we had a great time dancing the night away!

The next day we went shopping at some of the cute little stores around town, so I went with a casual black t-shirt and these fabulous high waisted mom jeans. I just got these jeans and I'm in LOVE with them! They show my curves perfectly and are very fupa friendly! I needed to give my feet a break so of course paired this look with my favorite sneakers - Allbirds.

And for our last morning here, we were headed to breakfast and then to say goodbye to the newlyweds. So I went with this adorable floral print wrap dress. I'm normally not a fan of wrap dresses because of how it fits on my fupa but this one is just perfect!

I can't wait to go back to Savannah again!

There are a few new faces around here and I realized I haven’t formally introduced myself. First - WELCOME! I’m so glad you are here.

I’m a mama to two sweet little babies. I’m married to my best friend, we just celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary! My mom and his dad worked for the same company. We met through friends and it was an instant connection because our parents worked together. I had just moved to Illinois, and I didn't know anyone! My husband was born and raised in Illinois but had gone to Florida every year since he was a kid for summer break. After a few years of dating, it was a no brainer for us to move to Florida since we both love it here! I was born and raised in Florida - I LOVE the beach.

*Trigger warning ED mentioned* I hate bell peppers... well actually you'd probably label me as a pretty picky eater but I've struggled with disordered eating in my past, so I just try to focus on eating things I enjoy. Which sounds so silly to some, but if you have struggled with food than you know what I'm talking about. Maybe someday I will talk more about my journey. I have PCOS. I wasn't diagnosed until I struggled getting pregnant with my son. I was practically born plus size. It was so rough growing up because my sister is tiny. We got so much crap because we were soooo different. But now as an adult I LOVE being tall. I’m 5’10 (and you can clearly see my feet are GIANT) and have been anywhere from a size 10-20 for as long as I can remember.

I started my instagram as a personal page, a way to share life updates with friends and family, but I found myself answering messages asking where I got that top or these shoes more than anything! It didn’t surprise me too much because I’ve had this same experience in real life. In real life, its a normal occurrence for someone to approach me asking where my outfit was from. I thought it was totally normal until I was with a friend at dinner and I had 3 different people approached me to ask me where my dress was from. My friend’s reaction told me that maybe this wasn’t normal for everyone like it has been for me. Not only did I tell those people where to get the dress, I told them how to get it at a great price and gave them a few recommends on how to style it for their bodies. I truly love helping people look and feel their best!! That’s what I hope to do with this platform. Thank you all for being here! 💕💕💕
