It feels like the right time to dust off the ole blog to write a recap about my tummy tuck. Considering that this is the most popular topic on my social media pages right now, I want this information to live somewhere that can be referenced easily.
My Situation
I have major apron belly. I've had one since I was a teenager. Plus I've lost a total of 100lbs and had two babies. I have a LOT of excess skin on my tummy. I was so ready for this tummy tuck! I pretty much knew the doctor I wanted to go for my procedure. I'm still 5'10 and 210lbs. And my doctor specializes in plus size tummy tucks. I'm not a mom that has always been thin and just has a little loose skin that needs to be removed just because of pregnancies. So I knew I needed a doctor that understood how to work on plus size bodies. I was really impressed with his results and after my consultation - I just knew he was the right doctor for me.
My Procedure and the Cost
I had lipo in my flanks and my inner thighs. Plus the tummy tuck with muscle repair. In total he removed about 7lbs of skin! My procedure total cost $11,500 usd. This included EVERYTHING.
My Recovery
The first 5 days were the toughest. I was on heavy pain killers and mostly sleeping. Day 7-9 I started feeling more like "myself" and felt like I could start working from home. The one thing I will say is that I'm 1 month post op and I still have a drain! I'm really swollen! I have my 1 month post op appointment this week, so I think we will be removing the drain and then potentially doing a procedure to remove the excess fluid in my abdomen.
